It is interesting to me that Mary&#039;s annointing with ointment seems to be in preparation for Jesus&#039; imminent death and burial.  She seems to know of his impending death when even his disciples and apostles do not.

Jesus&#039; words about her are also instructive:  &quot;Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much...&quot;</description>
